Description:
This is a fine quality antique English George V mahogany leather desk chair, which has been newly upholstered, circa 1920, in excellent condition. The swivel office chair has been newly upholstered to a professional standard in top quality full grain dark green leather, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The mahogany leather desk chair incorporates a deep buttoned padded backrest and comfortable deep buttoned seat, united by solid mahogany shaped armrests. The office chair frame has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The revolving office chair sits on four splayed mahogany legs that terminate on its original steel castors, which are in good working condition.
The mahogany leather desk chair incorporates the original mechanism allowing it to rotate 360 degrees and recline backwards. The seat height can be adjusted by turning a “bell shaped” metal nut on the underside of the chair, while the reclining tension can be adjusted by turning the small wheel at the front of the mechanism. The desk chair mechanism is in excellent working order, having been stripped down, cleaned and service.
This mahogany leather desk chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This beautiful desk chair is extremely comfortable to sit on and would certainly grace any home.

Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany chair frame and seat but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The revolving office chair has been newly upholstered to a professional standard in top quality full grain green leather, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no signs of wear and tear, damage or holes etc. The office chair frame incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the perimeter. The swivel chair frame has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard. Therefore, the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The original reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working condition having been stripped down, cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The mahogany leather desk chair retains its original steel castors, which are in good working condition.
