Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Georgian mahogany side table, circa 1800, displaying a lovely rich colour, in excellent condition. The table boasts a single plank top (quite rare to see) with a moulded top, above a single flush working drawer. The drawer features a later period swan neck brass handle & escutcheon and is decorated with fine cock-bearding. The oak-lined drawer is constructed with primitive hand dovetail joints and is decorated with a cock-beaded front. The drawer runs smoothly and closes flush to the frame. Below the drawer, the table features a straight apron. The table is raised on four straight, tapering block legs. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional joined manner for that period. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
This item features a lovely rich mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This Georgian mahogany side table would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the hallway, or useful as a writing table. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
