Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Edwardian solid mahogany revolving bookcase, circa 1910 – 1920, in good original condition. The bookcase features a square moulded top, above two tiers of bookshelves. Each tier is divided into four sections, one for each side of the stand, for storing books. The shelves and top are supported one a square central support column, as well as straight, simple vertical splats. The bookstand rotates on its original swivel mechanism, which has been serviced and is fully functional. The stand is raised on four splayed mahogany legs, which rest on the original steel & mug castors. The stand is solid in joint and ready to use.
The bookstand exhibits a rich brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
