Description:
Here is a fine quality and substantial antique English Edwardian oak revolving office armchair, circa 1910, which has been newly upholstered in sage green leather, and is in excellent condition. The armchair features a comfortable curved bar back, connected to wrap around arms, supported by an elegant vertical fan back. The chair seat has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sage green leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The chair sits on four splayed oak legs that terminate on solid brass castors. The chair incorporates a revolving mechanism and it rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The mechanism also features a reclining action, the tension of which can be adjusted by turning a small wheel at the front of the mechanism. The chair mechanism has been, cleaned, restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair frame sturdy and is extremely comfortable to sit on, as it features a lovely padded seat.
The armchair features a rich golden oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sage green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter. T herefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no wear, fading or damage. The reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned, restored and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a rich golden oak colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair features later solid brass castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
