Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English oak revolving desk chair, from the Edwardian period, incorporating a reclining & height adjustable mechanism, incorporating a metal plaque detailing the chairs’ provenance, upholstered in black leathercloth, circa 1910, in very good condition.
The English oak revolving desk chair is designed with a comfortable high-back, incorporating a concave shape, supported by an outer oak frame. The back unites the shaped arms with elegant vertical shaped supports. The back and seat have been upholstered, at some point in the past, with a good quality black leather cloth, finished with brass tack studwork.
The underside of the seat is webbed under hessian in the traditional manner, for additional support. The English oak revolving desk chair sits on four splayed oak legs that terminate on the chair’s original brass castors. The chair incorporates a working mechanism, that allow the office chair to rotate 360 degrees, recline backwards and be height adjustable. The seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair, while the tension of the reclining action can be adjusted by turning the small wheel on the front of the mechanism. The English oak revolving desk chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a lovely upholstered seat with a high back.
The English oak revolving desk chair features a rich mid-brown oak colour. The desk chair has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This English oak revolving desk chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
