Description:
This is a fine quality antique English George IV mahogany Canterbury, circa 1830, in excellent original condition. The Canterbury is divided into two compartments, with a central, front and rear partition. Each partition is supported by ring turned supports. The compartments are ideal for storing magazines, newspapers or music sheets. All four corners boast ring turned supports, finished at the top with four finely turned finials, and terminating at the bottom on the original ring turned feet and original brass castors. The Canterbury reflects a simple but refined style, typical of the Regency period; it has been constructed from the finest mahogany timbers.
The Canterbury features a gorgeous mellow brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
This item is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this colour and patination cannot be re-created through re-polishing. The finials & panels are original and complete, with no missing sections and are solid in joint. The feet and brass castors are also all original. The Canterbury has been constructed from the finest mahogany timbers. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
