Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English George III oak country side / hall table, circa 1800, with stunning colour, delightful proportions, in excellent original condition. The table comprises a twin-plank oak top with a single working drawer; decorated with a finely moulded edge and the original brass knob. The drawer is pine lined and hand dovetailed, with the original backboards. The frieze is decorated with elegant spandrels, which sit below the drawer and support the inside of the legs. The table is raised on simple tapering square legs. The table has been constructed using the traditional wooden peg construction and would have been designed for a country dwelling.
This item features a lovely mellow oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
This Georgian oak hall table is in excellent overall condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and top (see photos), but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). The table has been wax-polished by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are stunning. The drawer is in good working order; it retains the original oak drawer linings, closes flush to the frame. The drawer original brass drawer front. The table also retains the original top and backboard to the rear and legs. As the table boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic rich colour and patination. This table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
