Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Georgian oak and elm provincial lowboy side table, circa 1760, displaying a lovely mellow colour and stunning grain configuration, in good condition. The table incorporates a twin-plank moulded elm top above three drawers, comprising a wide central drawer flanked by two narrow drawers. The drawers feature old replacement Queen Anne style handles and escutcheons. The pine-lined drawers are constructed with hand dovetail joints and the drawer fronts are decorated with thumb moulding. The central drawer incorporates a working lock, with working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. Below, the table boasts a lovely shaped frieze and stands on four cabriole legs and pad feet. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional method.
This item features a lovely mellow oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the hallway. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
