Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency flame mahogany bow front chest of drawers, of small proportions, circa 1820, in good original condition. The chest features a flame mahogany bow front moulded top, above a bank of four graduated drawers, in a two-over-two configuration. The drawer fronts are decorated with cock beading and constructed with hand dovetailed mahogany drawer linings. The drawers also boast their original turned wooden knobs and retain their original working locks, with a working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on the original well shaped mahogany splayed bracket feet. The back of the chest features the original pine back boards. This item stands firm on the ground, is solid in joint and ready to use.
The chest features a lovely mellow mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This chest of drawers is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the top. Nominal old used marks and splits to the leading edges, sides and frame but nothing significant and out of the ordinary, considering the age of the item – please see detailed photos for closer inspection. The chest has been traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop. Lovely mellow colour and patination to the timber. The drawers feature cock beaded fronts, dovetail construction and retain their original turned wooden knobs, as well as the original working locks, with working key. The drawers close flush to the frame. The chest stands on its original splayed bracket feet and retain the original backboards. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
