Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency flame mahogany bow front chest of drawers, circa 1820, in excellent original condition. The chest features a flame mahogany bow front top, edged with satinwood string inlay. Below is a bank of three graduated drawers. The drawers are pine lined and hand dovetailed. They also boast their original oval brass handles and escutcheons and retain their original working locks, with working key. Additionally, the drawer fronts are decorated with satinwood string inlay. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on the original well shaped mahogany splayed bracket feet. The back of the chest features the original pine back boards. The chest features a lovely mellow mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This chest of drawers is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chest has been traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop. Excellent colour patination to the timber. The drawers retain their original oval brass handles and escutcheons, as well as the original working locks, with working key. The drawers are smooth running and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on its original splayed bracket feet. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
