Description:
Here is a fine quality pair of antique English Art Deco birds eye maple & walnut bedside chests, circa 1930 – 1940, in excellent condition. The bedsides are constructed with stunning birds eye maple veneers on a solid frame, cross banded with decorative figured walnut. The bedsides are constructed in a clean “block” design, incorporating a cupboard door featuring the original walnut handles, with three internal drawers behind. The drawers are constructed with dovetail joints and lined with quarter beaded interiors (a sign of quality), run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The bedsides stand on their original splayed plinth, decorated with walnut cross-banding. These bedsides boast classic Art Deco styling throughout; this is visible in the rounded corners, clean lines and splayed foot design.
These bedsides boast a mellow bird’s eye maple colour. They have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
These Art Deco bedside cabinets would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the bedroom. They would certainly grace any home, in either a traditional or contemporary setting; they are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

Condition Report:
Here is a fine quality pair of antique English Art Deco birds eye maple & walnut bedside chests, circa 1930 – 1940, in excellent condition, which is commensurate with their age. They are pedestals from an Art Deco dressing table, which have been adapted into bedside cupboards. The bedsides have been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of them. The bedsides feature lovely birds eye maple veneers, boasting a warm mellow colour, which are all in excellent condition. The drawers close flush to the frame and the doors retains the original walnut handles. These items are well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
