Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany office chair, with a revolving mechanism, circa 1890, upholstered in a crimson red leather, which is in good condition. This style of chair was also known as a “Captains chair” or “Tub Chair”. The Victorian desk chair incorporates a curved, buttoned padded backrest, secured to mahogany wraparound arms, on ring-turned vertical back supports. The Victorian mahogany office chair has been upholstered at some point in the recent past in a crimson red leather, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The seat has been sprung, to ensure it is firm but comfortable. The underside of the seat is lined with black cloth. This comfortable Victorian desk chair sits on four splayed mahogany legs, terminating on replacement English made solid brass & white mug castors.
The Victorian mahogany office chair rotates 360 degrees, the seat height is fixed and the chair is not designed to recline or be height adjustable. The chair mechanism is in good working order, having been cleaned and serviced. The antique desk chair is extremely comfortable to sit on.

Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The Victorian mahogany office chair has been upholstered at some point in the recent past in a crimson red leather material, finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. Nominal old use marks to the leather seat. The mechanism has been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the revolving mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of this piece of furniture. There are no breaks to the cast iron revolving mechanism. The Victorian mahogany office chair frame boasts a rich brown mahogany colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshop. This comfortable Victorian desk chair sits on four splayed mahogany legs, terminating on replacement English made solid brass & white mug castors. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
