The back of the mirror retains its original backboard, brass locking latches and brass keys, which connect the mirror to the shaped vertical mahogany supports, via the original ball joints. The mirror has been replaced therefore the glass is in good condition, free from scratches, foxing or marks. The bases of the vertical supports are decorated with floral carvings above a horizontal block, united by a turned octagonal stretcher, on cabriole legs and terminate on its original brass castors.
The cheval mirror boasts a rich brown mahogany colour. As its boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The item is a good practical piece of furniture, it’s not too large and not too small, and therefore, it can be used in most locations.
