Description:
This is a good quality antique French set of six oak kitchen chairs in the Louis XV style, constructed of solid oak, with rush seats and ladder-backs, circa 1920, with a rich colour and in good original condition. Incorporating a shaped top rail with two further shaped rails below, in the form of a ladder-back design within the shaped upright supports; the six oak kitchen chairs feature fixed rush seats, all of which are in good overall condition (see photos of each chair seat). The shaped seat frame incorporates a banded frieze. The seats are raised on fine block legs, terminating on shaped feet, to the front, with straight legs to the rear, all of which are united by elegantly shaped stretcher at front, with additional stretchers at the sides and rear, for added strength and stability. The six oak kitchen chairs are solid in joint.
The six oak kitchen chairs boast a warm mellow colour. They boast a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.
These six oak kitchen chairs would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the kitchen or dining room. They would certainly grace any home in either a contemporary or traditional setting; they are a great investment, as they are an extremely functional item. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
This is a good quality antique French set of six oak kitchen chairs in the Louis XV style, constructed of solid oak, with rush seats and ladder-backs, circa 1920, with a rich colour and in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frames have been glued and the oak has been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. Therefore, the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The rush seats are in good overall condition, slight variation in colour; given their age and original state, wear is to be expected (see photos of chair seats). The six oak kitchen chairs are solid in joint, they do not wobble and are ready to use.
