This is a superb quality fielded panel golden oak roll top desk circa 1880 – 1901 constructed with the best quality oak. It has recently been restored and boasts four graduated drawers in each pedestal and a central drawer. The right hand pedestal features a filing drawer in the bottom drawer of the pedestal. The desk boasts solid golden oak fielded panels throughout and features the original oak cup handles. The desk has an oak modesty board, two pull-out writing slides and the interior has 13 internal drawers (of which two are secret), 12 internal compartments with a 2 pen trays and 4 drawers in each pedestal. The internal drawers feature the original brass finger with each drawer having the facility to fit a label on the front of the drawer. The desk features a locking mechanism when the roll-top is. The “Angus of London” lock and key are in working order. The internal drawers are constructed of sycamore. The oak has an excellent tight grain with a wax finish. The desk dismantles into three sections for easy storage or transportation.
