Description:
Here is an example of a fine quality antique Welsh Georgian oak pot board dresser base, displaying a rich oxblood colour, circa 1800, originating from South Wales, which is in good condition. With narrow proportions (5ft wide), the dresser incorporates a moulded oak top, with a raised shelf incorporating an up-stand to the rear and carved gallery to the sides. Below are three working drawers above an ornate carved frieze. The drawer fronts are decorated with fine moulded edges and feature old Georgian replacement brass swan neck handles and escutcheons. The drawers incorporate pine linings, constructed with hand dovetail joints. The central drawer retains its original steel lock, with a working key. The base is raised on four-baluster ring turned supports, united by a pot-board base below, where the planks run front to back. The dresser has been constructed in the traditional method using the joined peg construction method.
The dresser features a rich mid brown oak colour. It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received (it cannot be recreated by re-polishing).
The dresser would look superb in any hallway, kitchen or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

The central drawer retains its original lock, which is in good working condition and comes with a key. The dresser is raised on its original legs and pot-board. The dresser has been cleaned and wax polished in our workshops. The dresser boasts a lovely rich oak colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The dresser is well constructed, solid in joint with no loose movements and is ready to be used.
