This is a very good quality antique and rare Celtic or possibly Scottish origin Arts & Crafts solid oak revolving office armchair (circa 1900). The design is quite unique and rare and is typical of the Arts & Crafts period. It features a carved and elegant shaped “owl like” eared backrest. The back is connected to the scroll arms. The arms are supported by three rope twist carved supports to the seat. The shaped seat has scroll carvings to the perimeter, which is also visible on the arms. The seat is connected to the base by four sturdy rope twist oak supports. The base is detachable and is connected by wooden screw blocks. The chair rotates 360 degrees. The chair is very comfortable is very sturdy.

Condition Report:
The chair is original and is in excellent condition. The arms are solid and show no signs of play the chair rotates smoothly on the base. This chair does not recline and the seat is fixed at a standard height. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
