This is a superb quality antique inlaid Victorian burr walnut pier cabinet, circa 1840 – 1860.

This in a superb quality burr walnut pier cabinet inlaid in floral decorations and burnished with satinwood and holly marquetry. The cabinet boasts the original brass ormolu mounts and key. There is a very an attractive shaped door which features the original glass. The interior has been refined in a cream satin with small motifs. The interior has 2 fixed shelves and strands and the whole cabinet stands on a burr walnut shaped plinth. There is an old repository sticker label on the back of the cabinet that makes reference to “Salisbury”.

Condition Report:
This item is in excellent condition and commensurate with its age. Nominal old use marks but nothing significant considering the age of the item. This item features an excellent colour / patination. There are no splits to the walnut veneer on the top or either side. The glass, lock, key, gilt escutcheons and hinges are original. Free of wood worm, solid in joint and ready to use.
