This is a delightful, well-proportioned and stunning quality antique Edwardian mahogany music cabinet, circa 1910. Although this cabinet was designed for storing sheet music, it makes a practical storage unit for music, books, vinyl material, magazines and newspapers.
Boasting practical proportions, the cabinet features a moulded mahogany top incorporating ebony and herringbone satinwood stringing above a cabinet door that is hinged at the bottom to allow it to drop down. The door features the original brass knob including the original sprung (working) locking mechanism. The door front is decorated with feathered mahogany and shaped ebony string inlay. The perimeter of the door is adorned with geometric ebony and satinwood inlay with further detail including herringbone satinwood string inlay. The door opens to reveal three horizontal mahogany shaped dividers. Further below, there are five further shaped mahogany vertical dividers creating six storage bays. Decorative oval shaped open fretwork panels adjourn the sides of the cabinet and below a shaped moulded frieze. The cabinet terminates on four tapered and spade feet.
This cabinet would make on excellent unit for storage unit for books, vinyl material, magazines or newspapers. This is an extremely useful piece of furniture and a great asset to have in any bedroom, living room or hallway as it consumes very little space.
As this item boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.

Condition Report
This cabinet is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the cabinet. The cabinet features the original polish and patination, which gives it the rich colour you see in the photos. This stunning colour can only be found in furniture with its original polish it cannot be recreated with new polish. The cabinet also features its original inlay (with no missing sections) and the original brass-hinged knob and sprung locking mechanism. The legs are original to the cabinet. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
