Here is a good quality antique English Edwardian oak revolving office armchair, made by W.M. Richardson of Leeds & Bradford cabinet makers, circa 1910, in excellent condition. The chair features a curved bar back, connected to wrap around arms, supported by vertical splayed supports and a bank of central vertical back splats of various widths. The chair has been upholstered with top quality full grain green leather padded seat, which has been finished with brass studs to the perimeter. The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner. The chair sits on four splayed oak legs that terminate on the original steel castors. The chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair rotates 360 degrees the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The chair also features a reclining action. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit at as it features a lovely padded seat.
W.M. Richardson of Leeds & Bradford were cabinet makers who specialised in the construction and retail of utilitarian home and office furniture in the North West of England during the early part of the 20th century. Their main customer base was the industrial powerhouse region of the North West of England but also sold furniture further afield.
This item features a rich dark brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report
The chair and its mechanism are in excellent working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair has been upholstered with top quality full grain green leather padded seat, which has been finished with brass studs to the perimeter. The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner. The chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in excellent condition – the reclining adjustable height mechanism is also in excellent working order. The chair features its original castors, which are also in good condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the back, arms or legs. As the chair boasts its original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
