Description
Here is a very pretty provincial antique George III oak side table, circa 1780, in good original condition. This table would have been used in a country property in England during the late 18th Century. The table features a simple three-piece oak top finished with a decorative thumb moulding. The top of the table boasts a lovely piece of oak the medulla rays in the timber are superbly pronounced. Below, there are two working hand dovetailed drawers which feature cock beading with the original brass swan neck handles and brass back plates. Below the drawers, the table is elegantly decorated with a very pretty shaped apron. The table has been handmade using the pegged construction method this is evident on the top and body of the table. The table stands on simple block legs. The table boasts a superb rich oak colour and is in excellent condition.
This item features a rich oxblood oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report
This table is in very good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the top (e.g. cup rings) and leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Some minor wear to the cock beading on the right drawer, which does not warrant being restored and losing its originality. The drawers are in good working order and closes flush to the frame. The drawers are pine lined and hand-dovetailed. The drawers boast the original brass handles and back plates. As the table boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. This table is solid in joint and ready to use.
