This is a very good quality antique oak dresser base, circa 1780 (George III period) originating from Shropshire, England. The dresser base consists of three drawers with the original brass escutcheons and replacement brass handles. The dresser features the original lock and what we believe to be the original key. The drawers are pine lined with the original pine backboards, straight legs and the original splash back. The drawers are cock beaded and the front has a reeded edge which is a sign of quality. The drawer linings are constructed of elm.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room, dining room or kitchen. This item would certainly grace any home and a great investment as they are an extremely functional. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
The item is in very good condition commensurate with its age. Excellent colour / patination. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Free of active wood worm, solid in joint and ready to use.
