Here is an example of a very good quality antique solid oak George III country bookcase / cupboard, circa 1760 – 1780, which has been adapted from Jacobean panelling dating back to 1605 – 1625. The cupboard boasts a protruding cornice above four fielded oak panels to the two doors. The doors feature the iron butterfly hinges. The fronts of the cupboard are shaped with diamond and floral carvings. The cupboard features a working lock and a key. Inside the cupboard there are four adjustable oak shelves. The cupboard boasts a superb colour which is only obtainable from very early timber.
