Here is a pair of superb quality antique shaped French Louis revival carved oak bedside cabinets, circa 1920, designed in the style of the Louis XV1 period. They each have moulded tops with a gallery surround and an arched back. Each of the cabinets feature an oak hand dovetailed working drawer, which closes flush to the frame. On one of the cabinets is a single working fielded panel cupboard door with the original brass turned knob, which reveals a porcelain interior. The fronts and sides of the cabinets boast a lovely shaped frieze and chamfered reeded corners below fielded panels. The cabinets sit on elegant shaped cabriole legs and pad feet. These bedsides cabinets boast the classic French chateau styling that you see in furniture of this period.
This item features a rich brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
These bedside cabinets are in excellent original condition. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Importantly, the bedsides tops are free of watermarks and ink stains. The door closes flush to the frame and features locking mechanisms to ensure the door does not open of its own accord. The drawers are oak lined, hand dovetailed and close flush to the frame. The sides and back of the bedsides are constructed of solid oak. The brass knobs and hinges are original. The cabinets stand firm on the ground and do not wobble. These items are solid in joint and ready to use.
