Here is a very good quality pair of antique Jacobean style oak benches, constructed circa 1920. The Jacobean period dates from circa 1600’s to the 1630’s. The pair of benches are constructed of solid oak with shaped corners. The undersides of the benches feature shaped corner friezes and sits on double turned baluster legs, which are connected by, double stretchers for additional strength. The legs and stretchers are constructed using a mortise and tenon construction. The pair of benches features a superb colour / patination, are very heavy and are extremely solid. They would work well as either benches in the kitchen or set of coffee tables.

The benches are in excellent commensurate with its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Free of active woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
