Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Edwardian figured solid mahogany Sutherland mahogany occasional table, circa 1901, with small proportions, displaying a lovely rich colour, in excellent original condition. The tabletop incorporates a lovely figured mahogany top, with a serpentine shaped moulded edge, decorated with satinwood cross-banding. The two table leaves retain their original working hinges and are supported by two splayed gate legs, terminating on their original brown porcelain mug castors. The table is supported by four block legs, interspersed by decorative fretwork panelled splats, terminating on a flat stretcher to secure the frame. The table retains the original top; the frame has been constructed in the traditional manner for that period.
Ideal for use a small side or serving table, as when the leaves are extended, it provides ample table space. However, when not in use, the table can be folded and stored away and consumes very little space. The table is solid in joint and ready to use.
The table boasts a lovely rich mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living or dining room. The table would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
