Description:
This is a fine quality small antique English Regency figured mahogany tilt top table, useful as a small dining or occasional table, circa 1820, in excellent original condition. The table boasts a rectangular rounded two-piece figured mahogany top. A sprung brass locking mechanism under the table locks the table when it’s horizontal. When un-locked, the table can be tilted to be stored horizontally and to display the lovely grain configuration on the top. The table is raised on a central ring turned pedestal column, which terminates on four splayed shaped legs. The legs rest on the original brass castors & foliate castor cups. The table can accommodate up to 4 persons and is sufficiently tall enough to comfortably fit your knees underneath. It is also sufficiently wide enough to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table. Alternatively, it could be used as sofa table, or an occasional table around the home.
The table has been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The table has also benefitted from the years of care and cleaning it has received.
This occasional table would look superb in a variety of rooms from dining room, drawing room or library. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
