Description:
This is a good quality vintage English Georgian style mahogany and satinwood inlaid dwarf chest of drawers, with small proportions, circa 1950, in excellent original condition. Designed with a straight front, the top is constructed with a mahogany top, decorated with a satinwood inlaid moulding. Below is a bank of four graduated working drawers. The drawers are mahogany lined with dovetailed construction and decorated with their original solid brass swan neck handles & back plates. The top drawer features a working brass lever lock (with key). The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on well-shaped mahogany bracket feet. The chest has been cleaned and traditionally French polished by hand to a high standard in our workshop, therefore the mellow finish, patination and colour are of a high standard. The chest stands firm on the ground, is solid in joint and ready to use.
