This is a very good quality pair of splat back Regency dining chairs, circa 1820 – 1830, which would benefit from being re-upholstered. This style of furniture was made famous by the renowned designer, Thomas Hope in England during the early 1800’s. The set consists of two carver chairs with a reeded frame, turned rope twist design central stretcher and down swept shaped arms. All chairs are made from top quality mahogany and are firm and solid.

Condition Report:
These chairs are in very good condition and commensurate with the age of the chairs. All chairs are free of wood worm, solid in joint and are ready to use. The seats would benefit from being re-upholstered as they show minor wear. There has been a very old repair to the “ear” of one of the backs it is solid in joint. There are no breaks to the legs. All in all, this is a solid, clean good quality and comfortable pair of chairs.
