Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English George III mahogany side table, circa 1790, displaying a lovely golden colour, in good original condition. This Georgian mahogany side table boasts a two-plank top with a simple edge, above a single flush working drawer. The drawer boasts the original swan neck brass handles & escutcheons and is decorated with a narrow, stained ebony string inlay to the drawer front. The pine-lined drawer is constructed with primitive hand dovetail joints, runs smoothly and closes flush to the frame. Below the drawer, the table features a straight apron with a bead moulded frieze. The table is raised on four straight, tapering block legs. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional joined manner for that period. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
This Georgian mahogany side table features a lovely mellow oak colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
