Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Georgian oak provincial lowboy side table, circa 1790, displaying a lovely mellow colour and stunning grain configuration, in excellent original condition. The table incorporates a twin-plank moulded elm top above three drawers, comprising two small drawers above a wide lower drawer. The drawers boast the original elegant brass fretwork backplates and swan neck handles. The pine-lined drawers are constructed with hand dovetail joints and the drawer fronts are decorated with cock-beading. The bottom drawer incorporates the original working lock, with working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The bottom drawer retains the original paper lining, which is rare to see. Below, the table is decorated with a decorative shaped frieze and stands on block legs. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional method.
This item features a lovely rich mid brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the hallway. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
