Here is a fine quality antique English Art Deco burr walnut two-door single-piece tallboy chest, circa 1930, boasting stunning mirror matched veneers, in excellent original condition.
Comprising of an elegant Art Deco double moulded frame, the two-door tallboy boasts an exterior of stunning mirror matched burr walnut veneers to the front and figured walnut to the sides. The doors also boast their original Art Deco metal drop-handles. The left-hand door retains its original sliding bolts, top and bottom, to secure the door when closed. The right-hand door retains its original working spring-loaded latch. Inside, the wardrobe features an internal shelf. Further below, at the bottom of the wardrobe is a bank of three mahogany lined dovetailed drawers, each of which retain the original Art Deco metal drop-handles and quarter beading (a sign of quality). The tallboy sits on its original recessed plinth and retains the original backboards.
This is a single piece tallboy and because of its narrow width, it is ideal for compact rooms, as it consumes very little space.
The item would be at home in any traditional or contemporary setting and consumes very little space. This piece boasts classic Art Deco styling in the overall design of the curved moulded frame, corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the plinth.
This wardrobe features a mellow walnut colour. It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

The tallboy has been cleaned and French-polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop. The tallboy retains all its original fittings. The doors retain the original internal door latches and Art Deco metal drop-handles, all of which are in good working condition. The doors close flush to the frame. The drawers feature quality dovetail construction, quarter beading (a sign of quality) and also close flush to the frame. The tallboy retains its original backboards and it stands on its original recessed plinth. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
