Description:
This is a fine quality pair of Georgian Regency mahogany armchairs, with newly upholstered seats, circa 1830, in excellent condition. The chairs are constructed from solid mahogany and feature a splayed bar back, with a floral carved horizontal central splat, secured by down swept arms and raised on turned supports. The stuff-over-seats have been newly upholstered in top quality luxurious pale gold “fleur-de-lis” pattern cotton & structured silk brocade upholstery. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seats in a fabric of your choice. The seats have also been professionally re-stuffed and re-webbed. The undersides of the seats are finished with traditional hessian backing. The seats are firm and you do sink into them, but at the same time, they are extremely comfortable to sit on. The chairs stands on fine ring turned legs at the front and sabre legs to the rear, with a rear stretcher also providing additional strength.
The chairs boast a rich brown mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
