Here is a lovely quality pair of antique Queen Anne style bow front burr walnut bedside chests, circa 1940, in good original condition. The bedsides are constructed with lovely burr walnut veneers on a solid frame, with a moulded top above three working drawers. The drawer fronts are decorated with the original floral metal pear shaped drop handles and back plates; finished with cock beading and mahogany dovetail drawer linings. The bedsides boast a lovely bow front design and stand on the original cabriole legs terminating on pad feet. They are solid in joint and ready to use.
These bedsides boast a rich brown walnut colour. They have a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
These items would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room (as a pair of lamp tables) to the bedroom as pair of bedsides. They would certainly grace any home, in either a traditional or contemporary setting; they are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Height = 70cm or 27½” or 2ft 3½”
Width = 49.5cm or 19½” or 1ft 7½”
Depth = 36.5cm or 14⅜” or 1ft 2⅜”
These bedside chests are in good original condition, which is commensurate with their age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and drawer bottoms (see photos), but nothing significant considering their age. The bedsides feature lovely burr walnut veneers, boasting a rich warm colour. The veneer work is in good condition with no missing veneers or damage. The drawers close flush to the frame and retain the original handles. These items are well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
