Description:
This is a superb quality pair of antique English Victorian solid figured mahogany bedside cupboards, circa 1860, in excellent condition. The cabinets are pedestals from a Victorian dressing table, which have been adapted into bedside chests. Each bedside chest features elegant moulded round cornered tops; this design is also reflected in the plinths. The bedsides each boast a cupboard door, with moulded faux drawer fronts and ribbon carved handles. The doors retain their original working locks, with working keys, and open to reveal a two-tier compartment. The bedsides stand on their top-quality rounded mahogany plinths, whilst retaining their original brass porcelain castors. The chests are constructed of top-quality mahogany timber imported from the colonies during the Victorian period. The quality is reflected in the weight of these bedsides; they are heavy to lift! Ideal for use in the bedroom as bedsides or lamp tables in the living room.
The Victorian nightstands feature a rich brown mahogany colour. They have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
These cabinets would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the bedroom. They would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
