This is an attractive flame mahogany veneered Victorian Bookcase Chiffonier, circa 1840 – 1860. The bookcase boasts a protruding canopy above a three bar glazed bookcase top which houses three adjustable shelves. The base has two drawers lined with the original blue paper. The doors to the base have inset moulded panels with carved corners. The inside of the base has one shelf. The whole piece sits on a mahogany plinth. The sides of the bookcase are mahogany. The back boards are pine as one would expect in such a piece. The bookcase separates into two halves for easy transportation.
