This is an attractive and very good quality antique French provincial cherry wood side table from the 2nd Empire period, circa 1830 – 1860. This table would have been used in a country property in France during the 2nd Empire Period. The table features a beautiful cherry wood top with a lovely grain configuration and hand and a central working drawer, which features the original brass knob. Inside the drawer, the sides are sycamore lined. The table has been handmade using the pegged construction method. Below the drawer, four very pretty tapered legs support the table. The table boasts a superb rich golden cherry colour and is in excellent original condition.

Condition Report:
Considering its age, this item is in excellent original condition. There are no stains, cup marks to the top of the table. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The working drawer features its original brass knob. The drawer is in good working order and closes flush to the frame. The drawer features a working lock and key. Free of active woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
