Here is a pair of superb quality antique shaped French Louis revival carved oak bedside cabinets, circa 1920, designed in the style of the Louis XV1 period. They each have moulded tops with a deep gallery surround and an arched back. Below, there is a single working fielded panel cupboard door with the original brass turned knob. Each cabinet is hinged on opposite sides to so go each side of the bed with original brass shaped hinges. The fronts and sides of the cabinets boast a lovely shaped frieze and chamfered corners below fielded panels. The cabinets sit on elegant shaped cabriole legs. These bedsides cabinets boast the classic French chateau styling that you see in furniture of this period.
This item features a rich brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
