This is a very good quality pair of antique serpentine French Louis XVI revival cherry wood bedside cabinets, circa 1950, designed in the style of the Louis XVI period. They each have elegant cross-banded cherry wood tops. Below, there are three useful working drawers. The drawers are sycamore lined and feature a dovetail construction with the original studded brass knobs. The fronts of the cabinets boast a lovely serpentine shape with a carved floral frame and the chests sit on elegant floral carved cabriole legs. The frames of the bedsides feature a very elegant shape frieze and the sides of the chest have vertical scroll carvings. The sides of the cabinets feature lovely figured inset side panels. These bedsides chests boast the classic French chateau styling that you see in furniture of this period.
These bedsides are in excellent original condition and this is what gives them their lovely patination and colour, which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care they have received.
