This is a fantastic quality set of four Trafalgar influenced Regency rosewood-dining chairs, circa 1815, constructed with a naval theme to commemorate the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The chairs feature a curved bar back with scrolled carving to each corner of the bar. The central splats feature two shaped scrolls, which are connected by a fan motif. The chair sits on turned and fluted tapered legs. To the back, the chair sits on sabre legs. The carving is extremely crisp. All four chairs feature recent replaced cane work seats, which is in excellent condition. These chairs can have swab cushions attached to the seat if required.
This item features a rich mid-brown colour with stunning grain configuration. It has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
