This is a superb quality antique Victorian mahogany piano box duet stool, circa 1880, in the
style of the Rocco movement. The seat has been freshly upholstered in top quality woven wool and cotton tapestry fabric and braiding. The lift-up seat lid is hinged with the original brass hinges and a brass stay to the right hand side of the box. The brass stay has a locking mechanism, which allows the lid to be fixed open while accessing the box. The box is ideal for storage of music sheets and other papers. The frame of the stool is construed with mahogany and it stands on the original cabriole shaped carved legs legs.
The stool features a rich mahogany dark brown colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
