Description:

This is a fine quality vintage English Art Deco two door wardrobe, constructed with stunning figured walnut, featuring an elegant bow front design, circa 1940, in good original condition.  The Art Deco wardrobe comprises an elegant Art Deco “bow front” design to the two doors, which are decorated with stunning mirror-matched figured walnut timbers and retain the original vertical tapered handles and walnut sides.  The right-hand door retains the original working lock (with original working key).  The left door retains the original locking latch, which keep the door closed whilst the right-hand door is open.  Inside the wardrobe are two hanging rails with an internal storage compartment on the top right-hand side.  The Art Deco two door wardrobe sits on a recessed plinth and the back retains its original backboards.  The Art Deco wardrobe can be dismantled into two sections to allow for easy access up a staircase and into the bedroom.

The Art Deco two door wardrobe would be at home in either a traditional or contemporary setting, and is an extremely practical storage piece.  This Art Deco armoire boasts classic Art Deco styling in the overall design of the curved moulded frame, corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the plinth.

Condition Report:

This is a fine quality vintage English Art Deco two door wardrobe, constructed with stunning figured walnut, featuring an elegant bow front design, circa 1940, in good original condition.  Nominal old use marks / minor scratches to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item.  The Art Deco walnut wardrobe has been cleaned and wax-polished by hand in our workshop to a professional standard, therefore the polish is of a high standard.  The Art Deco wardrobe retains its original interior, including hanging rails and internal compartments.  The doors retain their original door latches, handles and working lock (with working key).  The Art Deco two door wardrobe retains its original backboards and it stands on its original recessed plinth.  This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
