This is an attractive and very good quality antique French provincial cherry wood 2ft 6” wide side table from the 2nd Empire period, circa 1840. This table would most likely have been used in a country property in France. The table features a beautiful elm figured top with have a stunning colour & grain configuration. The working drawer, which features the original brass studded round ring handle and escutcheon, is cock-beaded and closes flush to the frame. The drawer linings are constructed of pine, which is typical of a table of this type and period. Below the drawer, four very pretty tapered legs support the table. The table boasts a superb colour and is in excellent original condition.
This item features a superb rich golden cherry wood colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
