Description:
This is an attractive pair of fine quality English Georgian style solid oak bedside chest of drawer tables by Taylor & Co, circa 2002, in excellent original condition. The chests feature straight, moulded tops, above a bank of three drawers. The drawers are oak lined, featuring dovetail construction and cock beaded fronts, as well as incorporating classic Georgian style brass swan neck handles, secured by circular escutcheons. The top drawer to each bedside also boasts the original working lock, with working key and shaped key escutcheon. The chests are raised on a moulded frame, terminating on Georgian bracket feet. To the rear, the bedsides are date stamped to 13/03/2002, with one of the bedsides also displaying the Taylor & Co. label. The bedsides are well constructed – they are solid in joint and heavy (which is a sign of quality); they do not wobble and are ready to use.
This pair of chests would look great in a variety of rooms from the living room as lamp tables, or the bedroom as bedsides. They are an extremely useful pair of chests to have in the house. The chests boast a warm mellow colour with a lovely patination to the timber.
